What is PT 141?

PT-141 (Vyleesi, bremelanotide) is a melanocortin based peptide that can address the problem of sexual dysfunction, for both men who have erectile dysfunction or impotence and women with sexual arousal disorder. It can be an alternative to Viagra or Cialis but without affecting the vascualar system. However, it has also been known to have the happy side effects of boosted energy and a natural tan.

It is a peptide developed from the Melanotan II peptide, which was originally tested as a sunless tanning agent, but it also seemed to cause sexual arousal and spontaneous erections in 9 out of the 10 original male volunteer test subjects. Melanotan II was produced to stimulate melanogenesis, the process that is responsible for skin pigmentation. Melanotan II was also known to suppress appetites and enhance libido, in addition to promoting skin tanning. In phase 2B of its clinical trial it was tested on premenopausal women and it was shown to help with sexual arousal disorder.
During the studying of and experimentation with the tanning peptide, melanotan-2 for melanoma prevention, sexual arousal and spontaneous erections were identified as a side effect in some of the test subjects. Testing was then carried out on human male volunteer subjects with a history of erectile dysfunction and nine of the original ten subjects experienced spontaneous erections when the drug was administered. Further studies revealed that the source of these effects was what is now referred to as PT-141.

How does it work?

Unlike Viagra and other similar medications, it does not act in the vascular system, but directly increases sexual desire with the nervous system. It stimulates and activates the dopamine hormones that happen to play a major role in sexual motivation. Dopamine is a known compound in the body, it’s a neurotransmitter that stimulates performance. When you have low levels of dopamine, your libido is lowered.

So, while PT 141 can be used to treat sexual dysfunction, for men and women, it can also be used for boosting your energy naturally, without harmful energy drinks or pills. It can also be used to promote skin tanning without the harmful effects of UV radiation and sunlight. It’s a good option for people who participate in body building competitions, they can get darker skin faster and have more energy to power through their workouts.

Possible Side Effects

Fleeting bouts of headache, nausea, and flushing were experienced by some people when dosed too high. It was pointed out that the headaches experienced from well-known ED medications like Cialis and Viagra were more intense and lasted far longer than those who experienced them with PT 141.

Due to its effects on blood pressure (generally a transient increase in systolic blood pressure by 6 mmHg, and diastolic blood pressure by 3 mmHg), bremelanotide is considered contraindicated in people with uncontrolled high blood pressure or cardiovascular disease.[1] As long as bremelanotide is not used more than once in one day, it is not expected to cause more severe increases in blood pressure.[1]

Drug Interactions

  • Bremelanotide acetate may slow gastric emptying and impact absorption of concomitantly administered oral medications.
  • Bremelanotide acetate may significantly decrease the systemic exposure of orally-administered naltrexone; avoid use with orally administered naltrexone-containing products intended to treat alcohol or opioid addiction.

All peptides ship in blank, unlabeled vials, with color coded caps for identification! (this is due to privacy reasons).
