SCULPTRA®
is a poly-L-lactic acid implant in the form of a sterile apyrogenic suspension, which is reconstituted from a sterile dry powder by the addition of sterile water for injections (European
Pharmacopoeia). This suspension contains microparticles of poly-L-lactic acid, the crystalline form of polylactic acid, carboxymethylcellulose and non-pyrogenic mannitol. Poly-L-lactic acid is the crystalline form of polylactic acid. Poly-L-lactic acid is a biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic polymer from the alpha-hydroxy-acid family.
PRESENTATION
The SCULPTRA® sterile freeze-dried powder is supplied in an elongated clear glass vial with an aluminium ring at one end, which is hermetically sealed by a rubber stopper, covered by a flip-off cap.
The contents of the vial are reconstituted prior to use with 5 ml of sterile water for injections to form a sterile non-pyrogenic suspension.

90 mg Sodium carboxymethylcellulose
127.5 mg Mannitol

On average, three injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months. The number of injection sessions and the number of injections per session vary from person to person.

Sculptra Aesthetic is used to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds which are treated with the appropriate injection technique.
Sculptra Aesthetic is suitable for:
- Deep folds between the nose and the mouth (nasolabial folds) also called smile lines
- The lines framing your mouth (marionette lines)
- Chin wrinkles
Sculptra Aesthetic works to replace lost collagen in a series of treatments administered by a Sculptra Aesthetic trained physician. On average, 3 injection sessions are needed over a period of a few months, to produce noticeable results that emerge subtly and can last more than 2 years.* Photos have not been retouched.

Treatment considerations for Sculptra Aesthetic:
- Sculptra Aesthetic is not for use in the lips.
Sculptra® Aesthetic is intended for use in people with healthy immune systems as one time treatment regimen of up to 4 injection sessions that are scheduled about 3 weeks apart for correction of shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles.
You should not use Sculptra Aesthetic if you are allergic to any ingredient of the product or have a history of keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring. It should not be injected while you have an active skin infection or inflammation in the treatment area and should not be injected into the red area of the lip. Side effects may include injection site discomfort, redness, bruising, bleeding, itching and swelling. Other side effects may include small lumps under the skin that are sometimes noticeable when pressing on the treated area. Larger lumps, some with delayed onset with or without inflammation or skin discoloration, have also been reported.
